Your Neighborhood, Your Lot
Are you a Detroit resident looking to utilize vacant land in the city of Detroit? Opportunity awaits!
The Detroit Land Bank Authority has partnered with local neighborhood associations and block clubs to offer neighbors the opportunity to use vacant land in pilot areas for $75 with a 3-year term. To ensure the neighborhood's vision stays in the hands of its residents, all applicants must have the approval of a designated neighborhood association or block club.
To apply you must:
- Be a Detroit resident
- Be current on all taxes
- Be approved by a designated block club
Not sure how you’ll use the lot? Possibilities include:
- Starting a community garden
- Maintaining the grass
- Creating a family picnic area
- Planting flowers and more.
